I shoot with professional Canon camera equipment — every image is directed, lit, and made with intention. Here’s everything you need to know. All pricing includes GST. EDIT Sep 2026.

Convention Floor Shots

My roaming photography. When I find you on the convention floor, I stop you, read your build, and direct you into a pose that suits your character. Shot with off-camera flash, a properly lit photograph.
It’s free. Watermarked. Posted to Facebook the week after the event. Want the unwatermarked hi-res version? Your support helps me to continue attending Cons.

Convention bonus: Book a Convention Session during a convention weekend — floor shots at $20 each at the same convention.

Convention Sessions

Convention Sessions are 30-minute sessions that happen off-site from the convention — away from the chaos of the convention floor. And every one includes a Heroic Image upgrade — one of your images gets the full Heroic retouch treatment. SFX isn’t included — it’s a paid top-up if you want it.

Mini Sessions are similar, but with a studio lighting setup and a dedicated slot; we spend a bit of time to get the pose right. Held in my Wellington garage studio or a studio space for hire. My setup is a 3-light rig (key + 2 strip boxes). 30 minutes. Ideally, we run 7 slots per day over a weekend.

Runs about 2 weeks after each major convention, or ad hoc on demand.

Home Base bonus: book at a Convention Session in Wellington event and your Solo includes 12 images (Duo also 12).

Early Bird for Convention Sessions opens 8 weeks before each out-of-Wellington event and closes 4 weeks out. With an Early Bird booking, we lock in the shoot rate at $130 full payment locks in the rate. Follow on Facebook or Instagram to get notified.

Bespoke Sessions

The full Capturing Cosplay experience. Your character, your story, proper time and light. I lead the shoot — hunting for Yummylight — and we build the images together. Locations: Wellington city, at your chosen location (travel costs apply outside Wellington), garage studio, or convention-adjacent (golden hour before/after con weekend).

Bespoke session images can be exclusive and shared by you within 3 months after Final Delivery. Collab posts with @capturingcosplay and other artists involved are encouraged. After 3 months, these will be shareable by Capturing Cosplay unless discussed prior.

SFX & Special Retouching

Not every image needs it. But when it does, here’s what’s on offer.

Add-Ons

Available on any session:

Fast Pass: Made your selections and don’t want to wait? Add the Fast Pass and your picks jump the edit queue — processed first, delivered first. It’s 100% on top of your selection total, and it includes the 48-hour Selection Gallery rush at no extra charge. (Only need the Selection Gallery sooner, without the Fast Pass? Rush delivery is +$50.)

Cutting Room Floor: the near-misses and outtakes — simple edits only (colour, white balance, exposure, crop). $140 for 10 images, $200 for 20. Only available for Bespoke bookings.

What’s Included in Every Unwatermarked Image

Every unwatermarked image includes base retouching as standard: colour correction and white balance, contrast/shadow/highlight adjustments, simple background tidy-ups, and a social media crop (1080×1440px).

Heroic retouching (included with Convention Sessions, Mini Sessions and Bespoke Sessions) adds full skin retouching (if needed), advanced dodge/burn, and detailed finishing. Cutting Room Floor images are simple edits as above, presentable and shareable, not magazine-ready.
