At the Convention Photowall

Here’s a series of quick tips/observations for a convention Photowall. Remember each photographer will have their own styles and suggestions. This goes for my event shooting and floor shots.

1) Come prepared with 3 poses.
I use a first-come, first-served basis. I tend to shoot fairly quickly if it’s busy and a little slower if it’s not. So best come prepared, just like you would at a bespoke photoshoot. But, at the convention photowall, come with 3 poses in mind. I can help adjust the pose before we shoot. If you can freestyle, remember to move one part of the body each time. You don’t wanna hold up the queue as you try to figure out your poses

2) Stay off the floor.
Save these poses for your bespoke shoot. Firstly, if you not standing you are probably not in the zone of my lighting setup. Secondly, you’ll likely be going to rip the paper backdrop or kick over a light stand.

3) The Lighting setup.
Please don’t request a different setup. The lights have been set prior and it’s not very likely going to change during the photographer’s time slot on the photowall. I have been known to have different light setups going off at the same time (recycle time of cheaper equipment)… A swap of lighting gel will be easy but it depends on the queue of people waiting.

There are heaps more, but let’s go with these first.
