Floor Shots (or Watermarked Shots)

Regarding the Floor Shots I have taken under Capturing Cosplay, I am very thankful for people sharing and using them on social media. Here’s my Point-Of-View on them.

Unwatermarked full crop images are available to be purchase with a Digital Token (usually $35/image).

If you like to support my work but can’t buy a full crop, please consider to buy me a ko-fi or leave a review on my facebook page.

A) The image won’t fit on Facebook’s profile/timeline space.
As of October 2020, all floor shots will be posted as Social Square crops with watermark. So they can be used for Facebook profile, Facebook sharing and Instagram sharing. If you are keen to use it on your timeline cover, please request a Timeline Cover from me. Always happy to supply a different cropped ratio. In any case, please tag back @capturingcosplay, and if you are using hashtags #capturingcosplay

You may use the NoBorder app (or similar) to extend the square crop background. Please use either the ‘blur background’ tool or add a pure black background to the image or put a thin white border around the image. No other cropping is allowed. EDIT 1/8/21 – I still have the full rectangle of the image should you be keen to get the unwatermarked images.

Older photos which has been posted as full crop.
I ask that you keep the intent of the photo (often it is a portrait, so keep a nice headspace). But best to come back to me and request a social square crop.

Exception HP Armageddon Photowall Photos, you should not crop the watermark out due to the event has been sponsored by the people who are watermarked. You can still buy unwatermarked images from this event.

B) Can I add a filter, special effects, words, etc in the image?

No, please don’t add anything extra to the watermarked image.
Exceptions and permission maybe granted case by case.

After you brought the unwatermarked image from me. You’ll have a license to crop and change, even retouching in special effects or compositing (this needs to be ‘done right’ and be oversee by me for final approval). However, you still may not resell or distribute for commercial gain, this is for your personal use.

C) Submission to online and offline media groups.
Please tell me (via email or PM @CapturingCosplay) and let me know how the images are to be used and which media group. Depending on the usage, I may wish to adjust the floorshot – remove my watermark and/or supply the full crop high-resolution file.

For my submissions, I will seek permission from the fellow creatives and cosplayers before I do my submissions. Note in both cases, submissions are still at the choice of the editor of the media group and publishing is not automatic.

D) Retouching and other options
I can always help with conceptual retouching, changing the image, making a set of social sizes, add type and designs, make CosCards, CosAlbums, CosComics, etc… but these are all extras which are chargeable items for me. Message me and we can talk more about this if it’s something you are interested in. Please see the curent rate card for the Conceptural Retouching rate.

E) Third-party License
I am open to talk about a third-party license, such resell or distribute for commercial gain but this will fall under Commerical use which will require a different arrangement.

Note: All Cosplay Floorshots and standard Bespoke Photoshoots falls under personal non-commercial use.
