“Thing”
0ne of my biggest tips and often my annoyance is the inclusion of “Thing” from the Adams family in my Duo or Group images. Don’t get me wrong, I am a big fan of Thing. But where it’s not needed when people are posing. Often I chat about connection, and it’s usual to put your arms around your friend and pose for a photo. It’s where the arm goes around one’s back and out the other side resting on a shoulder of a hip and all you see is a disconnected hand. It takes away from the photo I am trying to create.
The best advice is to rest the hand on the other person’s back or hand in the pocket/jacket or go into a fight pose (a la Charlie’s Angels or Five Warriors). Or pose where we see the arm as well as the hand. This is more suited for couples who have known each other for a while. This is why one of the questions I ask is “What’s the relationship between each other in RealLife”.
Will need to find some images to demonstrate this. More on this another time.
